The Arlington Mojo girls lacrosse team of 12-year-olds won the recent Northern Virginia 5/6 AA championship.
Arlington (9-2) defeated Herndon, 10-6, in the semifinals, then Annandale, 13-7, in the title match.
The players were goalie Emmy Cullinan, Reese Clark, Olivia Burgeson, Quincy Greene, Reese Montgomery, Ginger McClure, Helene Lydon, Gigi Lose, Mila Perez, Helen Hanke, Delaney Sinton, Caroline Klauder, Paige McCormack, Lila Almy, Maeve Shoji, Kate Loper, Emme Yoder, Coco Rigoli, Jessica Taylor, Finley Knutson, Kate Normile, Emmy Hart, Maddie Matthews and Emily Alperstein.
Coaches were Hal Sinton, Grant Yoder, Caitlin Clark, Catherine Colliatie, Jason Rigoli and Jenny Tran.
“These girls are fierce competitor,” Caitlin Clark said. “It was their tenacity on winning ground balls and protecting the ball that led us to decisive victories in the second half of both the semifinal and final. They are skilled on both sides of the ball.”
