Angel Ceron-Garcia

Tuscarora senior Angel Ceron-Garcia, center, was named the Dulles District Player of the Year this week. He's pictured in the Huskies' win this month against Potomac Falls.

The Dulles District's leading boys scorer and a sophomore on one of the county's most established girls teams took home big honors Tuesday when the All-Dulles District teams were announced.

Angel Ceron-Garcia, Tuscarora's senior striker, was named the Dulles Distric Player of the Year. He scored 20 goals in the regular season and led the Huskies to a 15-0-2 record and a spot in the Dulles District finals Thursday night against Briar Woods.

Ceron-Garcia was joined by brothers Edgar and Sergio Resendiz and keeper Adam Kight on the All-District first team, and Preston Phillips and Kevin Nerio on the second team. No other school had more than three players on the two teams.

Tuscarora's Dave Gryder, who led the Huskies to the AA state championship last year, was named the Dulles District Coach of the Year.

Loudoun County High School sophomore Emily Littell was named the girls Dulles District Player of the Year. Littell paced the Raiders (10-2-4) with 20 goals, second in the district behind Dominion's Breanna Mitchell.

Littell led the Raiders to the Dulles District semifinals and a spot in the AA Region II tournament.

Briar Woods' Ann Vierkorn, who led the Falcons to the top overall seed in the Dulles District and a spot in the title game Thursday night against reigning state champion Woodgrove, was named the coach of the year.
