Former Battlefield High School girls basketball Anthony Mills has been hired as the King George High School boys basketball coach.
Mills stepped down at Battlefield in May after four seasons. Under Mills, the Bobcats qualified for their first state tournament, won a school-record 22 games in the 2015-16 season and had their first conference and regional player of the year in Danielle Harrington in the program's 13-year history.
Mills finished with a 77-26 record at Battlefield, including 19-8 this past season.
After serving as an assistant varsity boys basketball assistant coach at Woodbridge, Mills took over at Battlefield in the fall of 2013. The 2005 Potomac High School graduate replaced Eric McCaslin, who started the program when Battlefield opened in 2004.
Mills will only coach at King George, while remaining a teacher in Prince William County.
