Jacob Critzer homered to left field for the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift Fluvanna past Brentsville 5-4 in the Class 3 state baseball semifinals Thursday in Salem.

Brentsville (21-4) tied the game at 4-4 in the top of the sixth when Billy Hoad’s single scored Mickey Haynes.

The Tigers led 1-0 in the top of the first on Sam Beard’s homer before Fluvanna recorded two runs in the bottom of the third. The Tigers went back up 3-2 in the top of the fifth. Fluvanna took a one-run lead with two runs in the bottom of the fifth.

Jake DeLisi took the loss in relief. He pitched the final 2.1 innings and gave up two hits and one run. Vince DiMauro started the game for Brentsville and allowed two earned runs and three hits in four innings.
