Senior Nick Wells threw his fifth complete game shutout of the season as the second-seeded Battlefield High School baseball team beat third-seeded Patriot 4-0 in the Conference 8 Tournament semifinals Tuesday.

Wells finished with seven strikeouts, three walks and three allowed hits to improve to 6-1.

Sophomore Jake Agnos had two RBIs in a 2-for-3 day with a double in the third that gave the Bobcats (14-4) another run to total three.

Battlefield scored in the bottom of the first as junior Jett Manning's RBI double scored Steve Kraft from second. Senior Cameron Skaff added a two-out RBI to close out the third making the score 4-0.

Another Bobcat, senior Cort Fisher, had two hits and two stolen bases.

Battlefield plays at top-seeded Osbourn Park Friday at 6 p.m. for the conference tournament title.

WOODBRIDGE 10, GAR-FIELD 0: Hanna Hannesdottir scored four goals for the Vikings (4-2 in Conference 4, 9-4 overall).

Annie Boros, Jillian Edwards, Kady Badham, Jewel Christian, Kaycee Pickard and Hanna Oliver also scored for Woodbridge.

Amber Hodges had two assists and Boros, Courtney Chapman, Kaila Williams, Caitlin Sullivan, Kendall Mikkelsen, Hannesdottir, Kylie Sullivan and Katherine Rogers each had one.

Goalie Chenelle Evans recorded her sixth shutout.

FOREST PARK 4, HYLTON 0: For the Bruins (5-0 in Conference 4, 11-3 overall), Jessica Leonard scored two goals and had an assist and Ashley Skertic scored a goal and had an assist.

Jamie Geraghty also scored a goal and Caitlyn Flores also had an assist for the Bruins. The defense was led by Jordyn Kuzins, Sarah Gleason, Alyssa Tallent and Ashley Diaz.

Ashley Major earned the shutout in goal.

BATTLEFIELD 2, OSBOURN 0: Sydney Sisk scored both goals for the top-seeded Bobcats (14-0) in Tuesday's Conference 8 Tournament semifinals.

OSBOURN PARK 2, STONEWALL JACKSON 0: In the Conference 8 Tournament semifinals, Edward Ayllon scored the first goal off an assist by Sam Cordova. The second goal was scored by Lewin Artiga off a direct kick to make it 2-0.

Jeff Madigan had 15 saves in goal. The defensive back line of Danny Tanner, Mike Such, Thomas Carswell and Jason Hill played solid defense in securing the shutout.

Second-seeded Osbourn Park is now 10-2-4.
