Vanessa Laumbach and Camryn Platt-Morris each scored 13 points and Adaija Bender 12 Thursday as top-seeded Woodbridge High School’s girls basketball team defeated third-seeded Colgan 56-34 to win its second straight Cardinal District Tournament title.
Both teams advance to the Class 6 Region C Tournament. As a No. 1 seed, Woodbridge (23-1) will host a second-round game Feb. 20. Colgan (16-8) will play a first-round game Feb. 19.
On Thursday, Bender also added six rebounds and Platt-Morris seven. Woodbridge led 15-9 at the end of the first quarter and 27-11 at halftime.
Alyssa Andrews led Colgan with 13 points.
