Three McLean Little League all-star girls softball teams are participating in state tournaments as the automatic representatives from District 4.
The McLean Major All-Stars and McLean 10-11 teams will begin play July 12 at Coeburn Little League. The 9-10 All-Stars have already started state-tourney play in Abingdon.
* The players for the Major team are Fae Butler, Chelsea Engle, Kaitlyn Fado, Emory Hadden, Abby Hart, Madison Keelen, Lauren Kim, Charlotte Loving, Reese Mamajek, Emily Manifor, Emily Martin, Abby Rebhan, Hayley Richardson, McKenna Sullivan and Ella Kathryn Templer.
The manager is Gerry Megas and the coaches Jamie Loving and Jamie Hart.
There are multiple players on the team that won a state tournament two years ago as 9-10 All-Stars, then won the state last summer as 10-11 All-Stars.
“We will be a strong competitor this year,” Megas said.
* The players for the 10-11 All-Stars are Rhea Bathula, Juliet DiPatri, Qiana Holmes, Madeleine Iams, Sophie Kaintoch, Lindsey Manifor, Julia Markowitz, Nora May, Avery Prendergast, Madeleine Spaner, Greta Uhlmann, Elise Walker, Zoe Wanek and Sienna Williams.
Brad Prendergast is the manager, with Alec Walker and Rob Holmes the coaches.
* The players for the 9-10 All-Stars are Megan Connery, Cassie Eckberg, Genevieve Fagan, Melody Hadden, Hannah Hoffman, Lucy Jorjani, Sasha Kirk, Jennifer Neigel, Paris Tran, Madeline Shean, Saoirse Sigler, Mary Cullen Thompson, Sydney Walker and Olivia Wood.
Tim Shean is the manager, with Jason Connery and Steve Hoffman the coaches.
There was no District 4 Tournament competition this year because McLean was the only league in the district to field all-star teams. So all three teams automatically advanced to the state.
Great Falls sometimes fields district all-star tournament teams.
